Lara Croft not-quite-nude

This is the main discussion page where you can discuss anything about Lara Croft or Tomb Raider in general.

    Description
Lara Croft, the daughter of Lord Henshingly Croft, was raised to be an aristocrat from birth. After attending finishing school at the age of 21, Lara's marriage into wealth has seem assured, but on her way home from a skiing trip her chartered plane had crashed deep in the heart of the Himalayas. The only survivor, Lara learned how to depend on her wits to stay alive in hostile conditions a world away from her sheltered upbringing. 2 weeks later, when she walked into the village of Tokakeriby her experience had had a profound effect on her. Unable to stand the claustrophobic suffocating atmosphere of upper-class British society, she realised that she was only truly alive when she was travelling alone. Over the 8 following years she acquired an intimate knowledge of ancient civilisations across the globe. Her family disowned their prodigal daughter, and she turned to writing to fund her trips. Famed for discovering several ancient sites of profound archaeological interest she made a name for herself by publishing travel books and detailed journals of her exploits. hey folks,

I was getting gas yesterday and the kid behind the counter said that he read the latest gaming
magazine that confirmed that SQUARE EQUINIX bought EIDOS and that they are re-vamping the
whole TOMB RAIDER series, meaning Lara is going to wear LESS clothing than before. so, anyone
expecting a female-friendly, PC, Lara wearing more will be disappointed. thoughts?
Good luck in your new bed. Enjoy your nightmares, son, while you're resting your
head--BASEMENT JAXX

No female/male friendly Lara Croft please. Bring back the Lara and TR where her looks didn't matter. Eidos, if you want to make your games more popular than make good games instead of using cheap tricks like this.

I can believe that some of her outfits will be more skimpy, possibly, but I doubt all of them will.

Now, I will admit that I've purchased video games because a female character looked sexy, but if the game sucked, I'd return it or sell it at GameStop, or something. I only have three games still that I obtained because of hot chicks, one of which is because it's a violent, bloody, ninja game. (Red Ninja: End of Honor if you're wondering). It's fun gore. Yay!

As for Tomb Raider, I honestly wanted to stay away from the games, at first, because I thought that they were using her looks to promote a crappy game. It was my step-brother who convinced me to try his TR2 demo, and I fell in love with the game.

If they feel the need to use smut to cover up the mess they could, and probably will, make, then they'll only maim the greatness that is Lara Croft.

I think the "wearing less clothing" and the "female friendly" parts are pure rumors at this stage. It's too early to be worried about that sort of thing.

On the other hand, the very name "Square Enix" bothers me :P
