Why is Lara so beautiful in this game?

I love the balloon chest, Trinity! But you're right... I think even someone without even general gaming knowlege could tell you that is Lara Croft. My grandmother can spot Lara Croft on TV or on posters... she's NEVER played a game in her life.

I think this answers everything; Lara is betefel not only because of her looks but because of her attitude. If she was looking teh same but acting like some spoiled brat no one would like her.

Yes! I know what you mean love. Everyone seems to know Lara Croft, or something trying to be like Lara Croft. The other day I was watching a craft channel with my mum (she loves to craft!) and there were these stamps, I think it was a bear, well anyway, they were supposed to be Lara Croft, with the long braid, brown shorts and green/blue top and holsters. It did make me laugh because the man presenting said "Oh look, just like Lara Croft!"

I loved Angelinas look for the movies. I liked the way it wasn't perfect, with her green/blue eyes and different shaped face etc, its the same with the models, they hardly ever go for complete clones. I think they needed to have her look abit different so they could make more of a seperate fandom for it. I think we discussed this in another topic, of course if we had a CGI film, we would want the Lara to look perfect, because thats possible, but its not humanly possible to make a human look JUST like Lara, because shes not a human! *takes breath*, okay sorry if that made no sense.

Hard to decide between the TR3 model and the AOD one. Simply because well, TR3 could be both hardcore, sweet and ironic; AOD was dark and mysterious and utterly hardcore. :B So those are my favorite models.



Also, one thing I loathe about tomb raider underworld. Her face is hideous, somewhat asian and her body is horribly square. Hence one more reason the oldies were better. Sure they look close to reality, but it still beats the newer ones.

I dunno, I think it might just be the way they used the graphics or whatever. Ok I dunno how to explain, I guess it's basically the same model in-game, just different graphics...

TR1 Lara is indeed beautiful, TR2 Lara mildly freaks me out sometimes, and the ugliest one was, IMO TR4 Lara. There was something really off there.

But what I love about AOD Lara is how they managed to make the game more realistic, and still keep her looking like the original, whereas in Legend-TRU she almost none of Lara's distinguishing facial features, except the brown hair. Her lips are puffy, but the shape is nothing like the original IMO.

If you don't mean what I get with TR4 Lara, then:



She looks like some strange asian woman with a really thick forhead, and what the hell is up with her anatomy? She looks like a granny.

Let's not even get into attitudes, the old Lara was the geniuine one, whereas Adri's latest DA entry sums up CD's Lara:



She toggles between "Hardkorrr" and "EMOTIONAL" *coughwhinybitchcough*, whereas nowadays there's nothing likeable about her. At least in Legend she makes some cocky jokes, in TRA she tries to act so tough and then breaks down crying. Which I find extremely annoying, it's like she's trying to be something that she is obviously not. At least the old Lara was likeable, she could be badass, flirty, hardcore, serious, and even treat enemies in a polite way while beating the crap out of them all in one.

Yes you are definitely right about AOD, it was next gen, but Lara still looked like Lara and I remember thinking "it is a big difference, but then again it's like there's no difference at all regarding her looks." They did a perfect job on her looks. TRL Lara really looks nothing like Lara. Actually Lara doesn't look like Lara in any of CD games. Recently when I was playing TRL I pulled the camera so I could see her face and I thought "this is not our Lara, who is this girl?"
I was watching a video yesterday of TRL early gameplay and one of first trailers and you can actually see that in that video Lara looks more Like Lara. Not only because she has a braid, but her face is similar to AOD.

Agree with you about teh new Lara, but the only thing that creeps me in TR4 is the way Lara talks to von Croy ("you old romantic you")

In that video, to be very honest I don't see much of a difference in the face, except more brown eyeshadow. :/ And her hair's more reddish.
